Good morning fellow bloggers! It is another Monday, and that means... I am linking up with Melyssa for Weekly Wishes. This is a great linkup to share weekly goal and receive some encouragement from others who also have wishes/goals for the week!

Last Week's Wishes Recap
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week has been relaxing, yet very amusing. I did start up my daily workouts, so I am very proud of myself for that! With a little push and encouragement, I finally did get around to cleaning up my room; having a clean room to come home to is just honestly the best feeling! And... tada! If you haven't noticed, I did change my blog layout! I am very excited, and I feel like there are some elements I still want to fix, because this layout is self made, so I am just proud I am getting better with HTML codings.
    This Week's Wishes
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Potty Train Penelope. I am getting really close! I have literally followed her around all week long to see her patterns of when she decides to pee/poop. And now that I've recognized these patterns, I literally pick her up and put her in her litter box just as she is about to pee/poo.  So with my guidance, she is understanding that she is suppose to use her letterbox. This week I'm going to try to see if she can continue to use her litter box without my assistance of guiding her there.
    2. Work Out. Now that I have finally gotten back on track with my workout routine, I want to continue this rhythm . So I am hoping that this week, I will continue to be in the gym for at least 3 times this week.
    3. IMPRESS THE MANAGERS AT WORK. This week I have the biggest opportunity to impress the bosses/managers at work. On Thursday, our Winner's location store is finally opening up to the public. This means, we are probably going to be extremely busy! I'm actually scheduled to work the first 3 days of the store opening, so I want to take this opportunity to show the managers that I can work in a crazy and busy environment with a store full of customers! I am so excited!
    4. Not spend too much money this week. Since I've been working for the past few weeks preparing for the stores' opening this Thursday, I already know what we are selling. And I am honestly so tempted to literally buy EVERYTHING I want. I am wishing that this week I am able to restrain myself from over spending. I can sometimes get off track when it comes to seeing many things I just want as opposed to what I need
These are my wishes for the week.  If you're participating and happened to hop onto my blog, leave your link so I can leave some encouragement as well! Have a great Monday, xo

    Family Fun

Dateless in DallasGood morning, good morning, good morning! I know this is a very early post, but because it is Monday, I decided to start off the day with a positive note. It has literally a while since I've linked up with these two, but today I decided that I will be linking up with Lisa and Bella for the the Weekend Recap. (Here are their past link-ups: Dateless in Dallas and Showered with Design).

If you think back to the beginning of last week, I actually wrote a post about my Weekly Wish, and wished that I would spend more time with family friends. To my surprise, I actually fulfilled this wish and literally spent 3 days in a row with the same group of family friends. And to my surprise, I enjoyed every bit of it!

    Friday
I started off the day with Jay. We spent the day just shopping and purchasing new tools for his recently new position of apprentice! I was honestly so happy for him so I just decided to just spend the day with him doing what he loves the most - which is buying tools and car parts for the car he recently purchased with his hard earned money. He had a great weekend; but let's get back to me for a second :P

Later during late into the night, I found out that my mom and sister were at our family friends place, and the other families (that we hang out with) were there as well. So, I decided to go down their and spend the night just having fun. I knew us "kids" were having fun with one another while the parents were just living their lives. We ate a lot of food, and my favourite of then night has to definitely be the wings that was made; the seasoning was just so spot on, and the honey garlic sauce was just blessed!
We all (for the first time), actually left their place early since many of the "kids" are still in cadets, had an activity to attend to the next day early in the morning.

    Saturday
Saturday was a very eventful day at work. Since the store will be opening up in just a few short days, work was just hectic since we were just trying to get the final details together while ensuring that everything was set into place for the floors to be waxed. There was just so much tedious work to do, and time went by very quickly because of the company I had, and the new friends I made at work!

After work, I went to go visit Jay to see the new car that he literally purchased the night before. It was so beautiful, and I was honestly just so happy for him because you could tell by his reaction to every bit of his car that he spent his hard-worked money on something that he actually loves. He got an Acura EL for those of you who are wondering!

Later that night, I again found out that my mom and sister were at our family friends' place again, and they were both texting me to stop by. Because I had the car, I was also their ride home for later that evening, but that wasn't the only reason I went. We spent the night just laughing and talking. There were times when the "kids" and "adults" were together just joking around and laughing, and their were other time when we were completely separated and the adults were just pulling pranks on everyone. It was just a great time with people I genuinely enjoying spending time with!

We, of course, continued to just eat a lot of food while watching movies and just enjoying each other's company. A few of us (me included) actually kept falling in and out of sleep on the couch. We later had 2am breakfast, prepared by our lovely mother's, which a cup of milk! We later went home early that morning since the parents were just so turnt up.

    Sunday
I don't know about the other families, but I pretty much slept in the morning. When I finally awoke, I actually spent a little time watching Netflix with the lovely Penelope. I love her company, and I could tell that she loves being smothered by me; I spoil her all the time!
And later during the day, you guessed it, we all found ourselves back at our family friends place - all the parents and children were just there having fun. We ate a lot of food, and the kids had a fun time running around the entire neighbour playing and just running away from each other. We even played grounders at the playground, which is something I haven't played in ages! Being one of the eldest children was kind of rough because I just don't have the energy like they to just keep playing! But we enjoyed our day, and later into the night, everyone sat together just talking and laughing and sharing jokes.

These are truly the kinds of the people I want to continue to surrounding myself with. They are just positive and encouraging people and make me smile and laugh whenever they open their mouths. So I had a very lovely weekend with these guys!!! I wish I was able to take more photos though. But I think I was just having so much fun that there was hardly no need to be on my phone!

    Silent Sunday #18

    Beauty Tag: Would You Rather?

Good morning bloggers! I was browsing through some of my favourite blogs, and came across Ray from Obey Ray. I noticed that she recently participated in a "Beauty Tag: Would You Rather?". A few posts ago, I did a Beauty Tag: This or That post, and thought that I would participate in this one since I am liking these questions very much! So, if you happened to stop by my blog, I encourage you all to join in on this tag. Let's begin!

    1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice makeup or nice hair and no makeup?
Never leave without your face; so definitely messy hair and nice makeup

    2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Oh man... honestly this is hard, but I would have to unfortunately say have my eyelashes fall out.

    3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
              I love MAC!!!!!!!!

    4. Would you rather wear lip gloss/lip liner look or an 80s perm?
I have no idea what an 80s perm is, so I'd have to say the lip gloss/lip liner look.

    5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
I'd say the obvious foundation line.

    6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
              Biker shorts

7.Would you rather have a bad orangey spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
Oh man! I've definitely had my weird tan line days where I can't hide them...

    8. Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair colour?
I love my hair.. so either or I would be sad... but I guess bad hair colour... I'll just have to get used to it.

    9. Would you rather have Youtube or Twitter taken away forever?
Uhm, I guess Youtube, I don't really need to sit down and watch music videos.

    10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
              Makeup brushes for sure!

    Pray Without Ceasing

    image via
Prayer is one of the most important parts of my day. I find it a true and real moment where I open up myself up to God with the reflections about my days and most inner thoughts. When I pray, it doesn't necessarily mean that I shut the whole world out and refuse to speak to others. To me, a prayer is a way to show my readiness and willingness to go before God.
I feel safe in prayer. Having an intimate conversation with a best friend who will never use anything I say against me. A friend who genuinely cares and listens without judgment. Nothing is ever too small or too big for God to care about.
Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ towards you. - 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
Not only praying for yourself, but praying for others is the best way to show your love and thankfulness towards His other children. I think it is always important to give every person and everything in your life to God in prayer, so that they will be in the best of hands.

    Last Week's Wishes Recap
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week has been extremely relaxing, and I am genuinely happy that I am finally able to just relax. During the past week, I actually made to effort to hang out with the family friends, and it was just a great experience. I usually have other plans whenever they invite my family and other families over, so they hardly see me. I usually had the idea that it wouldn't be as fun since the other children are somewhat younger than me, but it turns out they are just as fun when I actually make the effort to interact with them! I've also been hopping onto other blogs leaving comments here and there, so I am pleased with myself for branching out.
      This Week's Wishes
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      1. Potty Train Penelope. I am making very little progress.  So far, Penelope hasn't pooed/peed on the carpet anymore.. but she is still doing so on my bed. So I still want to train her to poo and pee in her litter box, or even her cage, as opposed to my bed... the smell of her pee is actually getting strong :/
      2. Read a book. I am currently looking for a book to read before summer school starts. So this week I am hoping to actually start reading a book. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
      3. Spend more time with the family. It is one thing to hang out with the family friends, but because I am home a lot now, and I think making the effort to have more conversations with them would be a great idea. I genuinely love my family, but of course there are times where they can be annoying, but nevertheless, I want to spend time with them.
      4. Clean my room. My room keep readjusting to Penelope's needs, since she is in her teething stage where she is constantly biting on everything. So this week fixing my room would just make me feel more at ease whenever I come inside my room.
      5. Work Out. I need to go back into my workout flow. I'm aiming to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. And if I am unable to go to the gym, then I am determined to do workout routines at home that also include stationary workouts and the use of the treadmill.
      6. Change my blog layout. I'm not exactly sure of the look I am going for, but I am in the mood of changing my blog layout around. Perhaps giving it a cleaner look with simpler colours.  This will probably take a while since I actually try and design my own blog instead of purchasing from designers.
These are my wishes for the week.  If you're participating and happened to hop onto my blog, leave your link so I can leave some encouragement as well! Have a great Monday, xo!

      Silent Sunday #17

      Broken Silence

      image via
"Brokenness" isn't necessarily a horrible word yet, this word may still strike fear amongst a lot of us. God doesn't desire and doesn't want to break our spirits. Rather, He wants to break that outer shelf that prevents Him from being all He wants to be in and through us. Breaking off things like pride, selfishness, rebellion and independence. God was us to be dependent on Him, and suffering seems to bring us to that point.

Whether it is through our sufferings to realize the good in God, or it is through Jesus' suffering and crucifixion... We cannot deny the need for our grace, and the need for Jesus. In Luke 19, we read that Jesus tells the Pharisees that if His disciples are kept quiet, the rocks would cry out in praise of Him. On this Holy Saturday, lets sit in silence together - whether you are in church, or praying at home - sit in silence and think about the good that came to our lives because of His everlasting love for us. The beauty of Holy Week is the realization of all that was done for us by His love.

      Sunday is coming.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. - Romans 6:5, ESV.

      His Love is Strong

      image via
Today is the Good Friday. Ironic isn't it? How can we call a day "Good" when this was the day Jesus was condemned to death? When this was a day when he died? If you ask me, when a loved one passed away, I never once said it was good. So how is it different with Jesus? Why is today considered Good Friday? Today was the day Jesus died on a cross.. for us. I personally think that today is known as "Good Friday" because His death was for our good. His death was not an accident nor a mistake.
"...Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." - Ephesians 5:2
The death of Jesus was not an accident nor a mistake. His death is a prime example of actions speaking louder than words. God loved us and sent His Son, Jesus, to met our needs of a Saviour. Jesus died on the cross to not only take away our sins but, to show us the love of God.

His love is what is so good about Good Friday. God loved us with agape love, a type of love that is unconditional just as described in the famous 1 Corinthians 13. Jesus willingly and purposely came into this world to live among us and then to give His life, dying on the cross so that we can live an everlasting life.

So on this day, I hope we all reflect and understand that Jesus loved us so much that He gave His life for us. He gave us the opportunity to either accept or reject His love.
To all who receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. - John 1:12
This is the "good" on this Good Friday that we need to recognize - His everlasting love.

      Betrayal

      image via
Thousands of years ago, this was the week Jesus endured betrayal, trial, crucifixion, burial and resurrection.  We call this week, Holy Week - a week where our hearts enter the written Gospels to live and breathe real events that took place here on Earth; the events Jesus endured in order for us to live a sinless life filled with love.  It is through the story of Jesus where we can learn and change while humbling ourselves in worship for our Saviour.

Since today is Holy Thursday, I think it is appropriate to talk about one of the few powerful moments of Jesus' life that really made me look at things in a totally different manner.
On the night they gave thanks and broke the bread at the last supper, Jesus had already known that sometime before, Judas had already made a deal to turn Jesus over. Jesus still broke bread with him at dinner, prayed with him, and even talked to the Father about what Judas later actions. And when the soldiers came into Gethsemane, Judas identified Jesus with a kiss and in exchanged received the amounts of silver that he was promised. And Jesus did not speak in anger or unkind words towards Judas. Instead, Jesus went with love and obedience.

Although he had already known that Judas would betray Him, Jesus still called Judas "friend".  His reps ones to Judas was not a sign of weakness, it was a sign of love.  Love for Judas, love for His Holy Father, and a love for us, His children in our most shameful moments.

As Holy Week is a time of reflection, it is time for me to be honest here. There are days where I identify with Judas and being in the role of the betrayer. It makes me very ashamed to say that there were days that I put other things before Christ, or even pushed him to the side to further myself.  I cringe to acknowledge my greed and my selfishness that I portrayed during times where I should have listened to Christ. I think we've all been a betrayer to Christ, whether we admit it or not.

But, there are those days where I identify with Jesus, in the role of the one being betrayed. I must say, it is extremely hard to still love someone with all your heart when I'm filled with anger and sadness. So yes, there were days where I didn't respond in love... but I need to acknowledge that there were days where I did, which is definitely not easy.  But that night Jesus was identified to the soldiers for arrest, He taught us all what love and obedience to the Father looks like.

Through His love, he was led to trial and later sentenced to death for us.  He died for us on the cross to take away all our sins, and betrayals. He calls us "friend".

      My "Go-To" Look

I used to hate the process of putting on makeup. I never really understood how to apply certain products on properly, so I just didn't really bother with even attempting to apply anything on besides moisturizer in the morning. Then as puberty started to hit, I started to have pimples here and there that used to just bother me so much. I later started feeling so imperfect, and I started to feel less and less confident about myself whenever I am with friends who I thought were just absolutely beautiful.

The purpose of wearing makeup, for me, was to hide myself. I wanted to hide everything that I deemed "wrong" about my look.  For some reason, the friends that I had at the time, just made me feel so bad about myself. I guess their parents allowed them to start wearing makeup, and I just saw this new profound confidence they had walking around. My perspective of myself eventually soon changed when I started to learn to love myself for who I am. Although I knew I didn't need makeup to be beautiful, this was the beginning of my love and passion for makeup.

I no longer hide my imperfections with makeup. Like I said, I am actually happy with my natural look. I do however wear a more natural-look with makeup on a daily basis because it makes me feel more confident about myself, and of course beautiful. So this is my go-to/everyday look for either school or work. It is more on the lighter side of makeup products, while at the same time still giving me a natural beautiful look.

      God is Bigger

      image via
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. - Psalm 46:1
We live our lives in constant motion. We are always looking around us, wondering at what is going on in our world while facing temptation, fear and sorrow. We are so preoccupied with getting things done, we don't seem to take the time to just laugh and smile or to just enjoy the moment. Good and bad things are constantly occurring in our lives, but we dwell so much in the bad. We let it ruin the rest of our day, and we sometime lash out on other. Who knows... you may have done bad on a recent essay, or having relationship problems, or you have lost your job.

It is during these times of struggle that we need to remember that God has promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. In fact, not only is He with us, He has promised to strengthen us and harden us to difficulties. When tough times come, they will just bounce right off of you. We cannot allow for these negative circumstances to take away our joy. Like the image above says, we need to have the attitude, "this may be a big problem, but my God is bigger."

When we stay connected to our father, through prayer, or our actions towards others, you will constantly stay hand in hand with God. And with Him by our sides, we are side through all the struggles that we may face. He will never allow us to go through things that He knows that we are unable to handle. He loves us all equally, and he won't leave our side.
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. - Philippians 4:13

      Last Week's Wishes Recap
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am officially off from school! That means I am done posting up studying wishes for me to kill upcoming tests/exams.  So I finally have time to myself, and I have to say that I honestly feel like I did well enough on my exams to attain a really great final mark! Since I basically had exams scheduled during a one week period, I actually decided to take a week off from work. So that wish of me trying to impress my bosses/manager didn't really work out too well since.. well I didn't work last week. And relaxing? Who was I kidding... I pretty much used every excuse from studying just to RELAX. So I am actually very happy about that!
        This Week's Wishes
        ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
        1. I hope I get accepted to the Nursing Program. This is probably a wish I am going to be listing until I receive my acceptance letter. Don't get me wrong, I love the psychology program that I am already enrolled in at my current university, but I think I will have more of a future with a nursing degree.
        2. Be a more interactive Blogger. If you stop by my blog every so often, you would have realized I have been here and there randomly... so this week (and the weeks following) I would love to blog more often.  I also would like to put myself out there and really start creating friendships with other bloggers.
        3. Spend more time with the Family Friends. Literally every week, my mom and sister goes and hangs out with the lovely families that we have met through cadets. It is usually 5 of us families... and this week I would love to be apart of this more.  I've been so preoccupied with other things that I've missed out on a lot of fun and jokes that they have with one anther.  They are planning a family dinner this Friday, and I am determine to make sure I go and enjoy the fun!
        5. Read a book. Since I am officially done all my exams, that's means I'm off school until May (the start or summer school). I would really like to start and finish a book by then before I burry myself in textbooks all summer long!
        6. Relax.  I know I have a busy week a head of me filled with exams and just studying all day everyday, but I am hoping that I am able to just take the time to have a break from it all and just relax.  Just so I am not stressed over the next few days.
These are my wishes for the week.  If you're participating and happened to hop onto my blog, leave your link so I can leave some encouragement as well! Have a great Monday, xo!

        Silent Sunday #16

        Life Lately

Good morning on this very early Saturday.  For those who actually stop by daily to read my blog, you would have noticed that I have been MIA for many days of the week for the past month or so.  Life has been absolutely crazy, to the point where I actually do not have time to properly plan out any of my posts for the week, and take time to sit and write down anything.

The only reason I am actually able to write a post is because it is early in the morning, and the information I am studying is literally just passing through my mind... so, studying right now would just be ineffective and just a waste of time.  So before I head to bed, I decided to just let you all know what I have been up to.

Since my exam is just hours away, my friends and I already planned to meet up a few hours before the exam just to go over the major concepts.  So hopefully, I do well tonight.  the only good part about having an exam on a Saturday, is the fact that this is my last exam! Wohoo! I just want to get this over with and start relaxing on my break.... before I start summer school.  So start expecting to see more daily posts on a regular basis!

By the way, did you notice the picture? Haha, Penelope actually loves to keep me company during the past weeks of studying.  She actually loves to lay around me and just listen to me. She is honestly the best study buddy since she is an excellent listener, and she is just too darn cute!! P.s., she does' like water bottles, so she usually knocks it over with a head bud, which is why it is laying on my desk like that!

Have a great Saturday! Good luck to all who have exams coming up!

        Work from Your Heart

Good morning on this rainy Tuesday.  There is absolutely no complains here, I rather it be raining, than snowing up here in Canada... so I am actually enjoying this very gloomy Tuesday.  If you have read yesterday's post, you would have noticed that one of my wishes mentioned the two exams I have lined up this week, one on Thursday, and the other on Saturday.  So, I am taking a very brief breaking from my "studying" that I am supposedly doing, and I decided to talk about something that has been on my mind for a while.
Lately, I've been just so down and stressed out with the amount of things I need to get done. Whether it is for personal reasons or just family matters, I am constantly finding myself mentally and physically exhausted by 3pm. Which isn't normal for me.. I usually get tired right in time before bed, but it has just been a crazy few week (well months actually, if I am being honest here). So, as you can image, it is really easy for me to start becoming very cranky to those who are usually around me the most.
Every night, before I go to bed, I usually talk to Jay about my day and just anything that is on my mind.  He was the one who actually realized that though I've been talking about different situations and events through my days, I tend to have very similar reactions and feelings.. which is probably why I've just been so stressed out and just feeling really cranky.
Then last night, he said a simple yet meaningful phrase that turned my whole perspective around.  He said, "God will never put you through things he know that you will not be able to handle."  This is something I definitely needed to hear.  Why preach something you can't practice? This is something  I used to always say to him when his life is starting to get a little hard to handle.
Whatever you do, work at it with all you heart, as working for the Lord - Colossians 3:23
We need to make the most out of life.  It isn't enough to just get through life, day by day, just to do things just to finish them.  We need to do every task with the Lord in our hearts by thanking Him and praising Him through our actions, thoughts and words.  By trusting in Him in our lives, just allows Him to continue the plan that he has in store for us.  There can only be joy at the end of this journey, and it is always important to remember that He will never let us suffer on our owns, especially through situations that we cannot handle.

        Happy Tuesday everybody! xo,
